Am I eligible?

To find out if you are eligible to apply for a national passport at the Cabinet of the Governor of Sint Maarten, you should first fill out our online questionnaire. Do you appear to be eligible? You will then receive a downloadable list of required documents. Collect these documents and make an appointment with the department of Consular Affairs during our telephone consultation hours.

Online questionnaire

Complete the questionnaire below step by step. It is important that you answer the questions honestly and according to your personal situation. Based on your answers, you will see if you may be eligible.

Application procedure

Applying for a passport should always be done in person. Children must also be present in person if a passport is applied for on their behalf.

In practice, the application process for a national passport takes four to eight weeks. The applicant is informed when the passport can be collected from the Cabinet of the Governor. If the applicant does not collect the passport within three months, it will be permanently destroyed by the Cabinet of the Governor of Sint Maarten. In that case, the applicant must reapply for the passport and pay the fees again.

The Cabinet of the Governor of Sint Maarten is not liable if a trip cannot proceed due to not receiving a new passport in time. It is therefore advised not to book a ticket before the new passport has been received.
