Position

The yearly income and expenses of the Cabinet are written in chapter IIB of the Dutch national budget. The Minister of Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) is responsible for management of the budgets. The Cabinet's administrative relationship is described in the Decree on finance and personnel of the Cabinets of the Governors. The director of the Cabinet reports directly to the director of financial and economic affairs of the Ministry of BZK about management tasks.

The Cabinet of the Governor of Sint Maarten does not fall under a ministry in the Netherlands or in Sint Maarten. For the performance of their work, the director and employees of the Cabinet are only accountable to the Governor of Sint Maarten.

In practice, the Cabinet works together with different ministries in Sint Maarten on behalf of the Governor. The Cabinet also works together with government entities in the Netherlands.
