Organization

Composition

The organization has 13.6 permanent positions. The management team consists of the Director, the Deputy Director (also Head of the department of Consular Affairs), and the Head of Operations. The Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations deploys the members of the management team. They work at the Cabinet for a maximum of 5 years.

Other employees of the Cabinet are recruited locally. They have an employment contract with the Dutch state. The terms and conditions of employment for local employees are established by the Minister of Interior and Kingdom Relations in the Employment Conditions Regulation for Local Personnel in Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten (ALP).

Management team

The director is charged with the overall management of the Cabinet. The director and deputy director provide the Governor with administrative and legal advice.

In addition, the deputy director manages the department of Consular Affairs. He also stands in for the director when he is away.

The Head of Operations is responsible for operational management within the Cabinet.

Department of Consular Affairs

The department of Consular Affairs falls under the responsibility of the deputy director, who is also the head of the department of Consular Affairs. This department employs front-office and back-office employees. In many cases, this department serves as the point of contact for citizens. The staff processes applications for visas, passports, naturalization and option requests.

Business Operations

The Head of Operations is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the Cabinet. She performs these tasks in collaboration with a finance officer, staff from the secretariat, facilities, reception and messenger services, and chauffeurs.

Aide-de-camp

The aide-de-camp, who also works at the Cabinet, is employed by the Ministry of Defense.
